Head lice are small insects that live on the scalp, usually on children. Head lice are not a health hazard, they do not spread any disease and they are not a sign of poor hygiene.
Color – Tan to grayish-white, darker on head with darker hair.
Length – 1/8”
Diet – Head lice feed entirely on blood.
Habitat – Head lice do not jump or fly, and they can only live on a human host.
Impact – They are typically found on children between the ages of 3 and 11.
